I want to go into real estate. Would getting an associates in business be a good foundation?
I am 18 years old and have always wanted to go into real estate. I realize that an associates in business is not really worth anything, but at only 18 years old, I figured it might be a good place to start. I still have a lot of time, and when I am done I could get my license. I also plan on marrying my long term boyfriend sometime in the future, and I could get my business degree, get married, then get my real estate license and start working. Would the associates benefit me at all?

Listing agent brought a buyer who did not buy the property, but bought some personal property that was there but not included in listing . The listed property never sold, listing is now expired. Agent now wants a cut, despite no basis in listing agreement...what percentage is reasonable?

I'm going to talk simple numbers here. Lets say the social security fund has to pay a person $1500 a month for 20 years till death. That equals something like $360,000 in lifetime benefit.What if the government could just buy a $250,000 house and rent it out. Not only would the renters pay the social security benefit, but there may be extra money to fund other things. Also, after a person dies, the rent could fund someone else's social security retirement. Plus as the property goes up in value, so does the rent...so the cost of living increases would be covered.What am I missing. Doesn't this seem to be a less expensive way to fund social security. It can even be done with a hybrid private property management solution...hire good companies to manage everything as lean as possible and eliminate much of the government beaurocracy.Well I was thinking that with the 2.7 or whatever trillion dollars in guaranteed funds that are supposed to be able to carry social security a couple decades, they could start converting to this real estate solution. the cool thing is once the real estate is bought, it pays for social security, but they still have the original assets
Is it unusual to rent apartments from a real estate?
I mean, people usually go to the landlord directly and rent the apartment. I didn't know anyone in this town so I went to a real estate and the agent showed me some apartments and I rented this way. My landlord lives overseas so I do all the work with the real estate agents. My friends said it was really unusual? What is unusual about it?
Do I have to commit a certain amount of hours to working at a real estate broker when i get my license?
I am going for my real estate license in New York and I am a college student in my last semester. Once i get sponsored by a broker do I have to commit a certain amount of hours to working there? Will they expect me there at least 30 40 hours a week? Or can I work at my own schedule. I am wondering because if it starts to interfere with any of my classes i can cut down my hours.

Question for real estate agents?
We've been working for months with an amazingly helpful realtor. She has shown us a ton of houses and talked us out of several overpriced ones. We only moved to the area last year and knew nothing about the area. We came from a place with much higher real estate prices, so everything seemed like a good deal. She's spent countless hours putting together research. When we had major troubles with our rental property management, she voluntarily stepped in for us. Not once did I feel that she's putting real pressure on us but rather genuinely wanting us to get a good house at a fair price.We were set to buy a custom built home in a development, a transaction that puts more work on her but gives her less commission than some houses she talked us out of. Unfortunately, things unexpectedly went wrong in terms of jobs, and we can no longer buy. We may have to relocate to somewhere my husband can find a job. This realtor deserves something for all she's done. I've referred her two people, but I don't know that many people, as we've only been in the area for a year, and all my co workers already own homes. I've written a glowing review, but so many agents have glowing reviews, and I'm sure most of them are not as extraordinary as her. We'd like to compensate her in some way. If we give her $1000, is she allowed to accept it, and can we be sure that she'll get it all rather than splitting it with her broker? What if it's in the form of gift cards rather than cash? What if it's in the form of a very nice non cash gift? The state is Alabama.Thank you We definitely want to give her something, so answers that it doesn't matter are unhelpful.
