Is there a place online to look for properties to rent that aren't selling?
We know there are people out there who have homes and land up for sale that aren't selling, and having someone living in them to care for them as well as collecting rent on them would help alot. Other than a realtor, is there a way that I can do a search on my own for such properties? We live in GA and like a country place with property to care for and garden, if that info is helpful. We have horses but have a place to put them. We may have to move in a couple of months if this property sells soon.

When should i start looking at properties to rent?
I am going to be moving in August. When should I start viewing places?

I'm researching investment properties to rent out, does it make sense to rent yourself?
When you're renting out your home to someone, I THINK that their money covers the cost of rates, as well as 50 % to 80 % of the mortgage. Please correct me if I'm wrong . So pretty much, does it all fall together, so that you pay rent to live in a house meantime somewhere, while pretty much someone else is living in your house paying off your mortgage? Obviously is isn't that simple, but is that the basic overview?

Is there any websites in UK you can find properties to rent through withought using estate agents?
really want to move but its too costly when you include estate agent fees and just wondering if there is an easier way than looking for adds in paper?

We are semi retired and are thinking of taking out a mortgage to renovate several of our properties to rent.?
With the current economic problems, should I be borrowing money? I know I can afford to make the payments just from a military retirement paycheck. But what is going to happen w prop taxes and will there be any renters? Issue is I have plenty people out of work that are will to do the repairs rather cheap. VA offering great re fi rates too. Undecided

I make 30$ an hour. could i get a 400,000$ mortgage and buy some properties to rent out (i have a 60,000$)?
i make 30$ an hour. about 50,000$ a year. i am single no kids. i want more income so i want to get a 400,000$ mortgage and buy 4 different investment properties. 100,000$ each from the properties i have been looking at the average income of four apartment buildings would be about 40,000$ a year and that after everything heat, electricity, taxes everything.i know that the banks probably wouldn't give me a 400,000$ loan to blow on a house just for me but where i would be increasing my annual income by approximately 40,000$ by buying apartment buildings could i get the mortgage? and i also have a 60,000$ down payment. 15 % of 400,000$ and i also know that most of my profit will be going on my mortgage payment but with the extra income i would definitely be able to make the payment.i was looking at a mortgage calculator and a 10year mortgage of 340,000$ 400,000$ my down payment of 60,000$ at 7 % interest rate would be 3930$ a month and my rent income would be 4000$ a month so i would still have 7$ profit. i cant see why i could not get the mortgage cause i could definitely make the payments but im not a 100 % sure so any info would help.thanks

If my Mum buys a second property to rent out, can I get Housing Benefit for it?
Hi there,My Mum has just come off of Carer's Allowance and Income Support after successfully training as a Counsellor for the past 5 years and is now fully qualified and has recently got a job earning around 30,000.00 P Year working at a High School. She get's a good wage and has bought her Council House for 27,000. She took out a 5 year mortgage and pays just short of 400.00 a month. Now, she wants to purchase a second Property to rent out. She has 2 options, I could purchase my Flat but she would take the Mortgage out for it in her name. I have lived in my Flat for around 6 years so I would get a slight discount from Local Authority of around 20 % we estimate and we think that she could buy it for around 35,000.00. But then she knows she won't get Housing Benefit for me as it has been bought. The other option is for her to buy a Flat we have seen several for around 40,000.00 for a 1 2 Bedroom Flat and then if I were to move from the Flat I am in at the minute to the newly purchased Flat, would I be able to get Housing Benefit payable to my Mum? I have tried to search online but have found very little on this particular subject. I phoned the Council who pass me through to several departments and put me on hold for like 30 mins so I got fed up on the end and thought to myself.. " Maybe if I sought some Answers on Y A, someone will know" DCould somebody tell me if this is possible please. Say my Mum charges 400.00 P Calander Month would Housing Benefit cover this amount? I don't think the " 1 room" thing would apply in my case with me being over the age limit which I believe is 16 24. I am 25 and Registered " Disabled" and not that this is important but for anyone else reading who this may be of interest too... If you are classed as " Disabled" and on a " Qualifying Benefit" D.L.A then the Housing Benefit only covering a bedroom in a household does not apply to under 25's. For anybody else it does. This is in South Yorkshire anyway, other areas, I cannot comment but is well worth looking into. One can be classed as " Disabled" either " Physically" i.e.. WheelChair User or " Mentally" i.e.. Bi Polar Disorder . I myself have both Schizophrenia AND Mobility Issues.Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.Lin. x

Know of any good property to rent in Edinburgh?
Hi, I am a medical student with another 4 medical students. We need to know of any sources where we can look in to rent a short term flat in Edinburgh close to the Royal Infirmary and Western General hospital.I think its best if you suggest a website or an agency rather than specific property because I am not sure whether this would be against the rules of the Yahoo Answers community

How can I find a property to rent when I Have a VERY poor credit history?
Myself and my husband was in a sever financial situation and it has left us with huge amounts of debt and very poor credit rating. We are in a situation where we will have to move soon but I can't find anyone who will rent to us, we both work and don't claim any benefits. We have a child and my parents in law may be able to be a guarantor if necessary.Any help would be great, Thanks in advance.

What should I expect when purchasing property to rent?
What should I be looking for? I know city and state requirements differ from city to city or state to state, but what are the basic things I should be expecting during the purchasing, repairing, and renting the property? I am looking at three properties which are bank repos and the price is pretty reasonable. These properties were orignally single family homes not rental properties.
