Reliable Buying Property Information
Renting with pets (UK). I'd welcome some feedback on this one. A local Estate Agent almost never?
has rental properties on their books which allow pets. Doesn't matter whether the property is an apartment, a house in town, or a place in the country. It's virtually a blanket 'no pets' going on. I've phoned them to ask whether this is a company policy, but was simply told 'this is what our landlords want'. Now that's fine, it's the choice of the individual landlord, but I find it very odd, if not downright questionable, that virtually no properties they have on their books ever state 'pets at landlords discretion' even and I am now becoming convinced that this is more a case of these particular Agents saying to their landlord clients 'you don't want pets do you'. It certainly could make life easier for the Agents if there are no pets on the property, in the event they need to inspect when the tenants are out working.I've been searching for over a year now for a bungalow, semi rural, with a decent sized garden and I've seen quite a number now with these Agents all totally suitable on the face of it but always this 'no pets'. End of.So if you were in my situation, would you actually go into the office and have it out with them? Would this attitude be 'discrimination'? I am totally prepared to pay an extra deposit, even another full months' rent as a deposit if needed. I am just so frustrated over all this we have rented since returning to the UK, with no problems, although not in this part of the country where it's particularly difficult, apparentlyAnd I question why these properties, rural, land, would be that appealing to people who don't have animals to be honest, in just the say way that I'd not remotely be interested in an apartment, or a town property.Thoughts please.Strange how people around here always jump on the bandwagon. For the record, I am not a jerk. We have no option but to rent, and believe me, if we could afford to buy, there's no question, we would. Unfortunately life has not been kind to us, bum decision, terrible bad luck etc.etc.. My two dogs, which are virtually all I have left in my life now, are not an option. I am just looking for a fair deal, not a blanket slam the door in my face. And I am well aware of the fact that others have abused in the past. However, I am prepared to pay the price and as for thousands of dollars in damage we have alwasy been regularly inspected, in fact at the last property, before where we are now, we had inspections every quarter not much damage could have been done in that sort of short interval between visits me thinks.I must just add that if I had to lose my dogs, to put a roof over my head, I'll top myself because without them, my live isn't worth living.
If you had a letter from a local estate agent saying a prospective client is interesting in purchasing a?
property in your road, what would you do?
I want to buy a property, but there isn't a local estate agent around and i don't know which estate to go to ?
