Financing a large land purchase?
We're looking to possibly purchase land near our current residence. It used to be utilized as a youth camp and comes with a hefty sticker price. How does one go about financing such a purchase? Monthly 30 year standard mortgage payments seem a bit ridiculous. Is there special financing available for large land purchases?In addition, we would end up selling renting our current residence and move onto the property in order to be able to maintain it properly. We also run a business for which we are currently renting a campsite several hours away. We estimate that our monthly net income from this would increase to more than $2300 miminum. We host events once per month and are our supplies are mostly donated, so our biggest expenses at the moment are gas for 1 2 vehicles and our campsite rent which would be taken care of if we own the site and don't have to make two 6 hour round trips We've also considered possibly renting out acreage during hunting season and the camp buildings on the weekends we aren't utilizing it which would require us to make improvements first . But, none of this is documented since it hasn't actually happened yet, so I don't think we'll be able to include our " planned" income when attempting to gain financing. Suggestions?The NFP organization that owns it now currently leases it during hunting seasons, so I'm sure it won't be a problem. I'm sure we'd like to build a new home on it eventually but that isn't anywhere in the scope of the near future.

How do you finance a land purchase with bad credit?
I am entertaining the idea of buying a parcel of land in my area California . I have bad credit as in a few points shy of 500. I have had a steady job for 4 years. The parcel is $50,000 and I was wondering what kind of a down payment, fees and Apr I would be looking at given my situation. I know it's unlikely for a loan but just testing the waters. Any advice from credible people is helpful. I don't need you making bad credit comments... I know, just give me numbers not abuse.

Land purchase: Do we have to buy land that we signed a purchase agreement for if the land didn't appraise?
We found some land and negotiated with the sellers to a purchase price and gave them earnest money. We did a contingency on the sale of our home, but not a contingency on appraisal for market value or financing of the land. We did not enter a date by when we would purchase the land either. We did sell our home and made plans to buy the land and build. We were disappointed to find out that the land market value is considerably less than the agreed asking price of the purchase agreement. Is there a time limit on a purchase agreement since we never said when we would purchase it which would make the purchase agreement void? The sellers are very nice and they would like to sell we are wondering if they could force us to purchase the land at the agreement price even though it doesn't appraise at that amount?
