A question about investing in land?
I really don't know how to invest in land. My mind is fixated at trading that's why I'm basically blank when it comes to this area. Well, anyway, a relative of ours is not interested in owing a piece of land somewhere in Bicol simply because he's getting old and none of his two sons would want to manage it since they're living in the US right now and they don't plan to come back here in the Philippines. He's really encouraging my mom to buy his land which has a total land area of 4 hectares. The land is being utilized for rice production. I really don't have an idea whether he's earning from it or not. All I know is he wants to dispose it as soon as possible. Um, I have a problem with this since my mom and I are too busy with our business here in QC but my mom said she will go there in Bicol next year after she finally scores a huge deal with a garments factory somewhere in Cavite. My mom also said it's better if we will change it from a rice plantation to a bus terminal and banana plantation. ??? I don't have a background when it comes to this and neither does my mom. Do you have a piece of advice for me? I just want to be sure we're gonna make the right and wise decision. Thanks also posted in Philippines section JoeyVNo Joey. My mom's business has no relation whatsoever to this one. Yes I admit that this deal is gonna be a shot in the dark that's why I'm constantly seeking advice with regards to it. I'm even planning to attend seminars this year on how to invest in land before making our final decision next year just to be sure.

I am considering investing in land in the Southwest or Rockies. Where specifically should I buy?
I am considering buying a large amount of land in the Southwest or Rockies...particularly New Mexico, Arizona, or Utah....but would be interested in Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, or Montana as well. I would most likely just hold the land for many years and then perhaps build a house on some of the land when I get older and sell the remainder of the land hopefully for a big profit For those of you who live in the Southwest West, or are very familiar with a lot of the areas out there, I am wondering if you have any suggestions as to what would be a good place. I'd be open to scenic, but more out of the way areas, as well as areas that are closer to major cities such as Phoenix, Albuquerque, or Salt Lake City, to name a few. What rural suburban areas do you think will be in high demand, 10 20 years down the road? What areas are really good bargains right now? Any input I would greatly appreciate Lizziegeorge no offense or anything, but you seem pretty lame and should probably go into therapy for anger management.I don't plan to put the majority of my savings in money markets, as I feel that there is much more appreciation to be had in investing land. I actually do own land where I live, but I think that the Southwest has potential for even much greater appreciation, not to mention, I wouldn't mind living there down the road. Now I could spend an entire year of my life driving through every town of the Southwest, or I could ask my question on here and get a few towns in particular to start off with. For anyone who lives in the Southwest, it takes a minute of their time to rattle off what they think are nice areas in their part of the country. That IS the whole concept of Yahoo Answers, in the first place.

Should I invest in land at 18?
Hi, Ok so basically, I am currently an 18 year old and a freshman technically a sophmore at a local community college. I am planning to transfer next year to a state and more expensive state university. I have worked since i was 15 and i plan to keep working through college. My mom says that i should invest in land at this age, so that when im old, i will already have land to build the house of my dream or even sell since land is supposed to increase in value over time. what do yall think? should i? i have pretty good credit i think, and i could come up with like a $3000 dollar deposit or something and could continue to make small payments over time. What shoudl i do?

Investing in land?
Im 17 now, but i have somewhat of an investment plan for the future. I plan on taking out 5 10,000 dollar loan, buying a few decent lots of land, and renting them out to whoever wants to put a trailer or house on it. I plan on renting them out for a high enough per month price that can cover what i will owe the bank. Then once im done paying off the bank, just let the money roll in that im making off the land and invest it in other properties. But i was just wondering if i could even take out a loan that big when i'm 18? I need an experienced person to give me a little guidance on this...
