Which housing agent should I choose (Singapore only) ?
I wanna buy a HDB flat. Which housing agent should I choose? Which is better? Chinese? or Malay? Any recommendations?
When people housing agents credit check you what do they look for? i am in debt but paying them off bit by bit
and when i move out i willhave done for 6 months. plus have 6 months of clear rwent behind me, will i b able to get somewhere?
Payment of commission to a housing agent on extending a lease.?
We've been staying in the condo for 10 yrs. now. As for the 1st year we have paid 1 2 mos. rental as commission to the agent and no payment of commission for the renewal of contract thereafter. Everything was smooth sailing. For everything and anything that we need from the landlord. Last 2 yrs. ago the landlord decided to terminate our previous agent and hired a new one, From that 1st yr the new agent was hired by the owner, she demanded we pay her half a month's rental as commission upon signing of contract renewal. Since we are not familiar with the Singapore law on agents commission esp. on renewal of lease, we did so although we were very hesitant as it doesnt seem to be right. Today we are renewing the rental for another year and the landlord's agent is asking for another half month's rental commission.Are we required to pay this commission for so called services that were not existing anyway? We never engage her services to assist us or to protect our interest in the first place. My understanding is that we only pay agent s commission whom we engage for assisting us in looking for or negotiating a property for us. The original tenancy agreement is between the owner and the tenant only. The agent is not a party to this agreement. As we do not have any agreement with the agent on this matter, we are not bound by the terms and conditions of the old tenancy agreement as it has been superseded.Please advise us on what will be the best course of action .Thank you very much.

Recently I wanted to sell my HDB flat and then I engaged a housing agent to help me with the paper work and at the same time co broke it. The problem is that I've signed an " Exclusive Authorisation to Sell Letter" issued by the agent's company. Uptill now, the agent still did not help me to find a new home. I've intentions of voiding the agreement but one of the terms stated that " In the event of the Owner's failure to proceed with the sale, attributable to his fault, the Broker shall be entitled to the agreed brokerage fee as in Clause 2." That means I have to pay the agent 2 % of the selling price as commission even though he she fails to find me a new house. I think the agent is out to cheat me and forces me to sell my house without helping me to find another home. How?

Im a tenant in Melbourne, Australia.I just got visited by the housing agent on the reason of inspection for property value. However, moments after the inspection I got a phone call from the agent that we have kept the apartment in a state worse than it was originally was. Worse part was that we felt the agent was not in a good tone towards us.Our lease is 1 years and we have occupied for 2 and a half months only. If a housing agent is consistently rude and shouts at the client, who do we lodge a complaint with?
Even though the tenant is a foreigner, the tenant is STILL his client so nothing excuses his shouting at the tenant. Which agency in Singapore do we report to regarding his unethical behaviour?
