Would you rather buy a fixer-upper or build a new house; when it basically going to cost the same?
The area I want to live has some nice homes, some are cheaper but need some major TLC. But there is also a lot of subdivided land available to build. We did the numbers with our Realtor and it is going to approximately cost the same thing. What would you rather do. And which is less of a headache. P

Should i buy a house or keep renting once my lease is up?
I live in a one bed apt with my bf. wev lived together for two years now. once our lease is up in november i would rather get a house, hed like to keep renting. He thinks the house we can afford now is not the one wed want once were done with school in two years for him and one for me. . i think it would be cheaper to buy a house and save money instead of renting at high costs that they are now. he thinks well get stuck with the house and wont be able to sell in 5yrs or whatever when were ready for our dream house. How do I legally get a person off the title and mortgage of my house?
My ex husband is on the title of the house in past 9 years he has only paid 1200.00 dollars in house payment. The house payment is 1200 dollar he made a payment last year for 500.00 dollars and one in March of 2012 for 750.00 dollars. I have gotten the loan down from 138000.00 dollars to 113000.00 dollars over the past 9 years on my own. I've paid at least 60000.00 in mortgage payments over this time probable more. What court do I file with in Sacramento and what form is use and what kind of proof do I have to present? Our divorce paper was left open so we could go back and decide what to do with the house. My fianc and I are getting married in early 2013. In leading up, we'd like to buy a house at the end of this year. However, I have pretty poor credit from some student loan issues I got into a couple years ago. I have been able to get past them and have my personal finances in order...but it takes time. My fianc just started working and she has pretty good credit score so I presume she'd have to be on the loan? Propane heating in new house?
Were contemplating buying a house that has a propane above ground tank. I have never had this as a source of electricity before. I am slightly confused. Does this mean we will not have an electricity bill each month, we just have to fill up the propane tank? Please helpIm pretty sure the propane is used for the heating and the fireplace only.
Would you buy a house next to a rental property?
My mother is in the process of buying a new build semi. The other newbuild house next door has already sold, and I've just discovered it is available to rent. I haven't told my mother this yet, as I would rather discuss it with her in person when I visit her tomorrow.She has put an offer in on the house and it has been accepted. But is it a good idea to buy a house next to a rental property? I know that any house can become a rental, and it happens all the time. There are loads of rental properties around and plenty of people who are neighbours to them But its my Mum and I'm concerned for a number of reasons, especially as this is something that she has choice about.The house is also near What do you think? However, I move every couple of years and some people I have lived next door to have some real horror stories from previous tenants. I am currently have other renters on either side and whilst both are very pleasant quiet they don't take great care of the place
How soon before my lease is up, should I start looking for a house to buy?
Im living in a rent house and the lease is up in 9 months... I feel like I should start now since it would be my first time buying... I really dont have any money saved up for a down payment. I dont even know how much I would qualify for... Should I start talking to someone about this stuff now or wait until its closer to my lease being up???Thanks
