Investing in the stock market or real estate?
Which is better? Please don't get all technical like saying " Your question is wrong, none are better" I need a clear answer. My condo complex burned down a month ago. Everthing is gone. Condo board has a $32000000 insurance coverage . Now the condo board want to put a blanket lien on all condo owners they say is for our benefit for the insurance. I found out that is lien covers all our assets which has nothing to with the condos that were gone. Can they legally do this?

What can I ask my estate agent to do?
I've had my house on the market for about a month now and had no intrest, the house is presented very well and i put it on the market for 5K less than what the estate agency suggested, I paid extra for premium listing on rightmove but I have not had any interest yet. I have given my estate agent my keys. Is there anything else I can do?
Can an estate administrator sell a mortgage if DSS will be involved?
My father held my mortgage when I bought the remainder interest in his property before he went into a nursing home. He quickly went on Medicaid and now that he has passed DSS will have a lien on his estate. As administrator, can I sell the mortgage at a customary discount and simply give the cash to DSS. The advantage is that I have a friend willing to buy the mortgage and then in turn I can refinance my property and buy out the mortgage at a reasonable profit for him ultimately saving myself several thousand dollars in the process. I understand that private mortgages are routinely sold at 30 to 40 % discounts all the time. Thanks for your opinion
Advice please - Estate agents muck up ?
Ok so here's the problem. Me, my fiance and our 18 month old son are currently living in a privately rented 2 bed house, we have decided to have another baby so will need a bigger house.We went through an estate agents to get this house from start, we was supposed to renew our tenancy is Jan 2012, the estate agents did contact us by letter to ask if we would like to renew and how long for, we sent the letter back saying yes we would like to renew for 2 years. However we contacted the landlord and asked him if he would let us renew without a guarantor, he told us yes but the estate agents wanted it in writing from him. That was the last time we heard from the estate agents and we have not been contacted to go and sign a new contract or even pay the fee for the renewal so technically we are not in a contract right ?We are not legally bound to stay in this house and are within our rights to claim our deposit back in full ?We think we have found a house that we would like to move to and will be contacting our landlord with the news.Im worried that he will get annoyed with us and try to keep our deposit ... where do we stand ?
