I have sold my house and have made an offer on another. The estate agent I'm buying from wants proof of funds an agreement in princple or deposit proof . On my part I was hoping to receive some inheritance and this would have helped with mortgage application and deposit, I've just been told I may have to wait two weeks. I don't know how to stall the estate agent and basically am asking if I should just be honest is that tactically a good move?

We have a on going problem with next door, re boiler, noise of flue, discharge of mist smell of gas into one of our bedrooms. The house has been sold, did the owner has to inform the buyer of this problem.Did the owner HAVE not HAS to inform the buyer of this problem.

My boyfriend and I would like to rent a house in the UK, but I have spoken to some Estate Agents, and with the deposit, plus admin fees, and some renewal fees and whatnot, the downpayment will be extremely high. I have some savings but don't want to dip into them, especially as we will need them incase anything goes wrong with the house.How could we go about renting directly with the landlord?Yes, the point is how do I find these landlords who are not working through an agent?I'm willing to pay a downpayment, I'm just very concerned about all the hidden costs with agents.
