Who pays the real estate agent fees?

I am wanting to rent. Are these estate agent fees too high?
I am looking to start renting a property. I was told by the estate agent I would need to provide the 1st months rent which is 500, a 500 deposit and a 210 application fee as it is me and my partner moving in , which I was expecting to pay anyway. The estate agent gave me the application forms to fill in and it says on the bottom " Moving in Moving out fee of 100, Contract set up fee of 250 and a service charge of 20" . That's an extra 370 Is it usual for estate agents to charge this? I don't want to have to fork out 1,580 just to rent somewhere for a while I just haven't heard of these extra costs before. Any help?? I knew I had to pay first months rent, bond and application fees but I think the other fees are too high

I am selling my house. How do I pay real estate agent fees if there is nothing left after the sale?
I am selling my house but will likely just barely get what I owe the bank for it. I am going through an agent because I just do not want to sell it myself, for various reasons that are not important. If I only get what I owe for it and there is nothing left over to pay the agent, Do I need to come up with the cash on my own? It is doubtful I will be able to come up with that much money. Am I just stuck with this house then?adding The house isn't for sale yet, but will be in the upcoming months. The RE agent I am going with knows about my whole situation but I only just know even thought about this. I will talk to her, just wanted to hear what others had to say. Thanks for all the answers. I should have said that I knew about the short sale option and most likely, we will have to go that route. I was just not sure how that would affect the RE fees, if I would still have to come up with it on my own with a short sale or if the bank would take that on. If we cannot sell the house, we will end up foreclosed, I know it and I really don't want that so I obviously do not have extra money. We will be moving into an apartment, not buying another house.

Avoiding estate agent fees?
We took out a contract with a small local estate agent in January this year. We are not happy with how they have handled the selling of our house which remains unsold and we would like to cease using them. The contract in the form of a letter not a formal contract states we will have to pay 500 towards advertising and marketing if we pull out. There is no contract completion date, just to give 30 days notice. We have been informed by another estate agent that this is not a legal document, as there is an undefined date to end the contract, and previous customers with our agent have been given this advice by solicitors. Will we need to pay them the 500? Will we need to pay towards the marketing etc. I have asked for a breakdown of the advertising etc and they have given me a very vague answer. It sounds like all they have done is put the photo on their website.

Can I claim expenses for estate agents fees...?
.....when selling my rental property.House was let for 3 years after I moved out and then sold in March. Am just completing my self assessment and am wondering if both the estate agents fees and solicitors fees count as 'expenses' under the Property section or whether I can just use them in my Capital Gains tax calculation. Or both. Materials I've found on the web imply both but that seems unlikely. All help gratefully received

Additional estate agent fee for renewing tenancy agreement?
Our current 1 year tenancy agreement is due to end early next year. I think the estate agent who manages the property on behalf of our landlord wants us to sign a new agreement rather than continue tenancy on a rolling basis. What kind of fee do they normally charge for this is reasonable? Our original tenancy agreement does not specify the level. Also, can we request that we continue on a rolling basis, or does this depend on contract? Thanks.
