Don't understand the estate agency?
I found a shop to purchase in a very good location and reasonable price. So I contacted the agent...being shown in the property. And I am very interested and trying to make an offer now. But the guy who had talked to me in agent is trying not to answer my phone. Left many messages for him but he did not call me back at all. I don't understand it Recalling that he told me he wanted to get rid of this property as soon as possible as it has been in the market for 4 years. What's your opinion on this?

Is it mandatory to work in the office of a real estate agency if you are an agent?
I have my own office at home and do not want to be confined to a little space in an office or cubical. Is it mandatory to pay office fees if you don't really work there for the most part?

I want to get into estate agency when I'm older. What GCES would I need to take?
I'm 13 and choosing my options next year. I've wanted to be an estate agent for quite a while and i'm not sure what GCSES i'd need in order to achieve this. Don't make fun, I know i'm not really aiming for the stars but it's what i'd like to do someday.

My estate agency won't give me back my deposit?
A year ago I moved out of that flat, few days ago a called them regards my deposit and they said I didn't give enough notice and they found damage to the flat.On the day I given the keys, the guy from the agency did the check and said nothing about damages.Also on the day I given my notice, I given them 2 weeks instead of 4, and the lady there said she thinks it will be ok.They have my telephone number, and I gave them my new address, but they never told me they are not going to pay me back the deposit.The flat was refurbished after I left to new much better standards.Also, I don't think my deposit is protected, if it is, they never told me with who.I am thinking in going to court, but it might cost more than what my deposit is.What should I do?Thanks guys WelshLad, I checked the websites, couldn't find any details on my deposit being protected, I tried my current tenancy, and I found it, just like my current agency told me.Don't you think that the letter is a bit harsh?

Can i report an estate agency?
basically couple weeks ago i booked an appointment to view a property and orginally my mother was gonna view it first for me coz i lived 200 miles away but change of plan and the night before i traveled down so i could view the property myself any way i rung the estate agency the same day as my appointment just to let them know i was going to attend not my mother, on the phone he asked me if i could rearrange the appointment for the next day as he has a gas leak and he was awainting enguiner but i asked him that if the enguiner shows up if we can still view the property the same day i heard nothing from him and it was then arranged to view the property the next day half an hour before i was due to view the property he rung me up and said he couldnt make it today can we reaarange half n hour is abit short notice and he would of had to leave his agency atleast an hour to travel to the property so he would of known sooner that he wasnt gonna be able to make it i told him on the phone i was no longer intrested in the property as if he cant be bothered to come and view a property then i dont want him as my agent any way yesterday he rang my mother and asked if i was still intrested in the property and told her that the reason he couldnt show us around on the 1st appointment date was because he had someone put a deposit on the property and its now fallen threw so why would he tell lies to us and say his got a gas leak and then rearranged an appointment knowing he wouldnt come is there any way i could report him for what his done as this in my eyes and unreputable agencyyes coz i spoke to him and said i was in the midlands and i would get my mother to call him and arrange a viewing as i didnt know what days my mother was free and i told him when he rung that i have traveled 200miles and had to stay over an extra night just to view the proerty and all he said was i could arrange a viewing tomorrowanswer to ? i didnt know he was a liar if i did do you think i would gone for it and also i have found another property now privately the best way

Do you earn more money in Sales or Lettings (estate agency)?
I got offered a job by two estate agencies. One is for sales and the other agency is for lettings. Im having a hard time choosing. They are on the same high street east dulwich so they roughly cover the same areas. This is my first time working in this industry and I wanted peoples advice on what area of estate agency earns the most money and has the better career prospects. Also in what position am I likely to earn the most money with hard work of course in my first year?When you give an answer can you say why you think this please? ThanksCan I just point out that they both offer the same basic, so its just a question of what sector I will earn more money with commission.

Advice please: problem with an estate agency? UK?
I put a holding deposit on a property, the estate agent contacted me via email so I have the proof to say that I had passed all of my references and that they would contact me to confirm a move in date, once the new landlord had completed on the sale.Today I receive a telephone call from them saying that I cannot rent the property because apparenly I owe money from a previous letting agent, which I don't because I sorted all this out The point being, they passed my references and are now saying no. I have written them a formal complaint and I am awaiting their response, I have informed them that I will seek legal advice and go to the property ombudsman, is there anything else I can do?They have kept my 200.In my opinion it is very much returnable, how can you tell someone they have passed their references and then say no? It is very wrong and I will be taking it further.

Can I sue for a real estate agency for listing a home with the wrong square footage?
I purchased a duplex listed as 40000sq ft seven years ago. I recently refinanced my duplex, and had an appraisal done. The appraiser came up with 3400sq ft. This is a huge difference and must be false advertisement. It also means I overpaid $40000 for the duplex. What can I do?
