Are there different exams for residential and commercial real estate agents?
I'm looking into becoming a commercial real estate agent, do I have to take a different exam than if I wanted to work as a residential agent or is it the same test for everyone?Do you guys have any tips on what kinds of things I should learn to go into commercial real estate?

Question for commercial real estate agents or appraisers?
I own 1 apartment building in a 38 building apartment complex in a Chicago suburb Glendale Heights . Our owners association is debating whether to completely renovate our damaged inground pool for $70,000 or close it completely. Each building has 6 units with 2BR 1BA, 980 square feet each, and about 5 years ago these buildings were going for about $600 $650K each I assume they're worth significantly less now, maybe $500K .If we rebuild install a completely new pool for $70K, how much more will that add to the value of our 6 unit apartment buildings? Or, if we close the pool, how much do you think the value of our buildings would be affected on the downside?When responding, please indicate your experience level with real estate, so it can help me evaluate your responses. Hello, i want to get my licence to sell commercial real estate and aside from doing the real estate courses provided by OREA, what other type of education would you recommend i have? I'm not interested in a bachelor's degree as i'm not doing this to get hired, but to understand and be capable of doing the tasks that are a part of a commercial real estate agent's day.I know i'll need negotiating skills, interpersonal skills, self discipline and time management, communication skills verbal and written , marketing skills, and general business knowledge. I'm thinking more of a certificate or a diploma.Thanks guys.
Do Commercial Real Estate agents calculate square footage using a formula other than Area=Lenght*Width?
I have been looking for office space in the SF bay area and many of the suites I have seen will advertise that they are larger in square feet than the dimensions I actually measure. Is it standard pratie to add extra square feet to cover additional costs or are all commercial real estate agents dodgy sleezebags?

I have been interested in becoming a commercial real estate agent for awhile in Dallas however, I have a few things going against me, and I would like to know the answers to the following 1. What are my chances at getting hired as a commercial real estate agent within the current Dallas economy. I do not have a marketting or finance degree, but rather a masters degree in psychology. I have worked primarily in the non profit sector, however, an looking to transition into a different career choice. I do have some B2B sales experience.2. I am a woman, and am concerned that this market is still saturated with men, and it may be difficult for a woman coming in without finance and marketting degree.3. What firms are good to work for in this area, and are there any hiring right now4. How do I get an interview5. If there are firms hiring, are there firms in Dallas that hire on 100 % commission....what do you think about those firms as far as succeeding in them.6. Any other tid bits of advice would be helpfulAlso, as a side note, please do not question why I am going into commercial real estate.
