By living a boring life most of the time and eating cheaply. I managed to travel for 7 months overseas having only been working 20 hours a week for the previous 2 years. It took a lot of living a pretty boring life and saving every cent possible to make it so I could fulfil some of my dreams. Have a high interest savings account which you put every bit you possibly can in to it. Then once you get it to a couple of thousand, put it in to a term deposit where you will get more interest and aren't able to be tempted to spend by that money being in a savings account you can easily get access to. It is not easy, but it is doable if you are tight with your money and don't spend on unneccesary things. Drinking alcohol and smoking are two big things not to do if you want to have any chance of saving on a low income. However tough it may be, you have to think of the big picture of your ultimate goal you are saving towards and not think how tough it is on you not being able to waste your money on what you want to at the moment you are having the thoughts of spending.
