How does buying houses work?
Let's say there's a house that's priced $1,000,000 and you have the money to pay for it. After you pay the million do you still have to pay monthly payments? Or is it free for the rest of your life?

Why do you think British people buy houses more than people from other countries?
My family live in Spain and Australia and most people they know rent. Not many people worry about buying houses, whereas in Britain, the " done" thing is to get married, buy a house an have kids. I see it as a huge debt that you may never be able to pay off. I am not talking about extremely well off people, this is obvious why they would buy, but people who struggle to pay their mortgage. And pay it back over a long period of time. What is the point? Surely renting makes more sence with regards to home repairs etc? It seems to be a very British attitude that you must buy. What are your opinions on this?
