First time buying home, can only afford max of 800 a month how much loan can i get?
So if i can only afford to pay 800 a month for a mortgage which would include any property tax and insurance how much of a loan can i afford? Have great credit so sure would get a low intrest rate. Advise on buying home that appraised for less than selling price?
Hello,I am in contract for a 2 br townhouse in Silicon Valley. The unit is located in a 100 unit development, and only a few of them are 2br units. The most I can afford it a 2br. I have several family members that also live in this development. It is also in the school district my daughter currently attends, which is a very pricey school district...in other words, there are no other areas I want to live in. This is the cheapest neighborhood in this exspensive school district. So if I don't purchase in this community, than I will either continue to rent and rents are skyrocketing in my community or just buy something in a different school district which is not as good, and I will be less than thrilled and totally disappointed that I am not living in the good school district and near my family. This unit was listed at $399,000, we negotiated a selling price of $390,000. We went into contract. However, my lender appraised the townhouse at $370,000. So if I want to purchase this unit, I have to pay the difference. I have the money saved and can afford it. However, my problem is that I am clueless if this is a good purchase, or if I am getting ripped off and paying much more than I should be paying. I have tried to get the seller to come down, but they refuse. I can get out of my contract since it appraised for less than purchase price.Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.Thank you.
